Plato’s main belief is that the arts don’t show reality, but rather, that the arts are merely imitation, and promote corruption in society. He also believes that the arts should be censored, or banished. However, although the arts can be deceitful at times, art can be educational and beneficial to creating a strong society if they are portrayed in the right ways.
